Quick Facts

  • Only the calculators on this page are accepted for the Math Test--Calculator portion of the test.
  • You should not make use of calculators or calculator while working on your Reading, Writing and Language and Math Tests--No Calculator portions. You will need to put the calculator out of use during these parts on the examination.
  • You'll be dismissed and your test scores cancelled in the event that you use your calculator to share information during the exam, or to take test questions or answers from the testing room.

Calculator Smarts

  • Bring your personal calculator. You can't share one.
  • Don't bring a completely new calculator. Bring a calculator that you're familiar with. Study for the test by using the same calculator that you'll use on the day of your test.
  • This Math Test includes some questions where you shouldn't utilize the calculator, even though it's permitted.
  • It could be beneficial to do scratch work from the test book. Make notes before applying your calculator.
  • Be sure that your calculator is in working order , and that your batteries are in good condition. The test center will not have batteries or extra calculators. If your calculator malfunctions during the test and you're without a backup the test will be completed the test without it.

Acceptable Calculators

If you have a calculator with characters 1 inch or greater or if the calculator has a display with a raised top that is visible to other test takers, you'll be placed in the test at the discretion that of your test instructor.

Only handheld equipment powered by batteries can be used to test. It is not permissible to use power cords.

Calculators which are permitted during testing are:

Unacceptable Calculators

You cannot utilize any of these items as a calculator:

  • Laptops, computers of other kinds, tablets, mobile phones, smartwatches or wearable technology
  • Models that have access to the Internet and have wireless Bluetooth and cellular connectivity, audio/video recording and playing, camera, or any other features similar to smartphones.
  • Models with a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input or stylus
  • Models that have electrical outlets, make noise or even have a paper tape
  • In addition, the usage of hardware peripherals such as a stylus with an approved calculator is not permitted. Some models with touchscreen capabilities are not permitted (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
